Premios de las Fundaciones
The Darling Foundation The Darling Foundation was created in 1929 in memory of Dr S.T. Darling, a distinguished malariologist, who was accidentally killed during a study mission of the Malaria Commission of the League of Nations. The administration of the Foundation was transferred to WHO in 1948.

The Darling Foundation was established for the purpose of awarding a prize for outstanding achievements in the pathology, etiology, epidemiology, therapy, prophylaxis or control of malaria. The prize consisted of a bronze medal and a fixed sum of CHF 2500. The medal and prize were awarded at a special ceremony during the World Health Assembly. 28 laureates received the Darling Foundation Prize between 1932 and 1999.

Dissolution
In January 2008, at the 122nd Session of the Executive Board, the Executive Board agreed to dissolve the Darling Foundation as proposed by the Director-General and requested the Director-General to take all necessary action to effect the dissolution, subject to all approvals and action required under Swiss law.
