- At PAHO/WHO’s request, the proposed institution will Assist WHO in developing, maintaining and revising the WHO Family of International Classifications (WHO-FIC).
- At PAHO/WHO’s request, the proposed institution will Contribute to the global network of WHO Collaborating Centers on FIC under WHO’s leadership.
- At the request of PAHO/WHO, provides support for local and regional users of classifications.
- At PAHO/WHO’s request, In support of and in coordination with WHO, promote use of the WHO-FIC as and when appropriate by developing, and sharing training materials, organizing and conducting training courses, and translating international WHO-FIC materials for local use, in coordination with WHO.
- At PAHO/WHO’s request, support WHO to strengthen the implementation of WHO classifications, supporting quality assurance procedures of the WHO-FIC classifications regarding mechanisms, norms and standards of classification use, data collection, and data analysis
