  1. To assist WHO to promote innovative approaches for better implementation of TB control strategies through the development and evaluation of new tools - drugs, diagnostics and vaccines. 
  2. To support WHO in assessment of the impact of TB control interventions and better determination of trends in TB incidence, prevalence and mortality (including MDR-TB and TB/HIV). 
  3. To support WHO’s efforts in human resource development and capacity building to enhance skills for scaling up TB control interventions in line with the End TB Strategy.
