Terms of Reference:
- At PAHO/WHO’s request, the proposed institution will support PAHO/WHO through capacity building and data collection for improved health information systems and assessment of alcohol policy options, including the use of open-access softwares to estimate alcohol-attributable mortality to be identified.
- At PAHO/WHO’s request, the proposed institution will support PAHO/WHO’s implementation of the WHO Global Strategy to Reduce the Harmful Use of Alcohol through the provision of expertise and technical input to inform alcohol policy and the development of country-level alcohol policy scales.
- At PAHO/WHO’s request, the proposed institution will assist PAHO/WHO in developing additional resources and build capacity regarding health taxation, and in particular alcohol excise taxation and alcohol pricing strategies
