- At WHO’s request and under its leadership, provide support to WHO in the implementation of national traditional medicine strategies in strengthening evidence base and knowledge management of clinical research of acupuncture and herbal medicines
- In agreement with WHO, provide technical support that may inform the development of a new WHO Regional Strategy on Traditional Medicine and its implementation
- Under WHO's leadership and at its request, support WHO in improving information system for traditional medicine by developing a set of indicators for analysis of the development of traditional medicines and practice for Member States in the Region
