- Under WHO’s leadership, and in collaboration with other WHO Collaborating Centers, optimise laboratory capacity and capabilities for use in developing countries.
- Under WHO’s leadership, and in collaboration with other WHO Collaborating Centers, undertake the characterization of circulating rabies viruses in dogs and investigate vaccine efficacy against these canine strains of rabies virus.
- At WHO’s request and in collaboration with other WHO Collaborating Centers, develop and validate rabies diagnostic and serological tools for human use.
