Terms of Reference:
  1. To support PAHO/WHO with the development of activities that will strengthen regional and global AMR surveillance priorities. 
  2. At the request of PAHO/WHO, provide scientific expertise and technical support and guidance on Mycology, including antimicrobial susceptibility testing, quality assurance, and laboratory assessments. 
  3. At the request of PAHO/WHO, provide technical support and guidance on molecular surveillance platforms for Antimicrobial Resistance. 
  4. To assist PAHO/WHO by providing reference laboratory services and training on antimicrobial susceptibility, resistance mechanisms, quality assurance, and surveillance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

  1.6.1 - All countries have essential capacity to implement national action plans to monitor, prevent and reduce infections caused by antimicrobial resistance
  1.6.2 - Appropriate use and availability of antimicrobial medicines in human health and food production settings as a contribution to improving access to and maintaining effectiveness of treatment
  1.6.3 - High-level political commitment sustained and effective coordination at the global level to combat antimicrobial resistance in support of the Sustainable Development Goals
