Terms of Reference:
  1. To provide information and advice on priority areas of research and development in the new field of genetics and human genomics strengthening collaboration with other WHO Collaborating Centres and NGOs in official relationship with WHO. 
  2. To assist WHO/PAHO and countries in the Americas on genetics issues by prioritizing on 1) The training of health professionals on topics related to community genetics and health promotion; establishing preventive programs and 2) Managing the Virtual Library of Medical Genetics for Latin American countries and the Genomic Resource Center.  
  3. To contribute to WHO efforts in promoting community genetic services, by investigating the approaches for optimal organization, delivery and evaluation of genetic services in primary health care.
