- To provide essential assay-specific reagents needed to perform testing for onchocerciasis as required by WHO guidelines
- To develop a system of quality control and logistical support for laboratories that are needed in order to comply with WHO guidance for the verification of the elimination of onchocerciasis
- To assist in the development of country laboratory capacity to perform WHO-recommended diagnostic testing for onchocerciasis
- To rapidly evaluate new diagnostics technologies as they become available in support of development of new WHO guidelines for onchocerciasis elimination
