Terms of Reference:
  1. At WHO’s request and under its guidance, the proposed institution will provide overall support to the WHO Western Pacific Food Safety Programme by conducting training workshops and providing food testing services for Member States and developing appropriate standard operating procedures. 
  2. At WHO’s request and under its leadership, the proposed institution will conduct training activities and provide technical support to National GEMS/Food Centers (NGCs) in China and the Region to strengthen capacities to provide evidence-based data for policy development including food standards setting in line with WHO’s standards. 
  3. At WHO’s request, the proposed institution will participate in GEMS/Food by providing monitoring data on levels of emerging chemical contaminants as well as persistent organic pollutants, pesticides, heavy metal and mycotoxins in Chinese total diet and develop a database of food processing factors for refine risk assessment. The institution will also provide technical expertise in the total diet studies (TDS) and food safety risk assessment in Asia.
