I have been working in the hospital ward as a nurse where I have been caring for NCD patients for 20 years. I know how much they suffer. Now I am the manager of Zanzibar NCD Alliance. I dedicate my time to combat NCDs and I know where the problems are in fighting NCDs. Our big challenges fighting NCDs in Zanzibar are inadequate knowledge about risk factor, prevention (healthy diet and daily exercise) and proper use of medicine in the population. These lead to further NCD complications on a national level.
