My NCD diagnosis took a long time. At first, doctors thought I had asthma, but after many years they realised I had rheumatic heart disease (RHD). Managing my RHD is very important. I take several medicines every day and have regular medical checkups. While I don’t know anyone else in my community with RHD, people are supportive. My parents were a big help, though my father has sadly passed away.
