NCDs affect me personally and professionally: I am a degree nurse working in a cardiac unit and living with rheumatic heart disease (RHD). I was diagnosed 3 days after the birth of my first baby. Initially, living with my NCD was hard. I experienced stigma when taking my daily medication, as many Ugandans still associate chronic disease with HIV. But now, I live positively and have even been blessed with a second son!
