In November 2015, my 5 year old daughter Ayana was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Our family and our El Paso community sprung to action and began a whirlwind of overwhelming support. Over the next 5 months we stayed at the hospital to complete 4 cycles of chemotherapy, going home for one week at a time between cycles. Ayana finished treatment in March and went back to school in May. Lately her check-ups have been good, and she's getting ready to start 1st grade.
