Sodium thiosulfate is an antifungal agent.
Treatment of pityriasis (tinea) versicolor.
Dosage and administration
Adults and children: a thin coating of lotion should be applied twice daily to affected areas for 4 weeks.
Treatment should be discontinued if irritation or sensitivity occurs. The lotion should not come in contact with the eyes.
Use in pregnancy
Topically applied sodium thiosulfate is not systemically absorbed and can be used safely during pregnancy.
Sodium thiosulfate lotion is generally well tolerated.
Lotion should be stored in well-closed containers.
