Research to assess impact of climate change on communicable diseases
Other TitlesReport of an informal consultation, WHO/SEARO, 15-17 September 2010
AbstractClimate change is known to affect, amongst others, human health. An informal consultation was held to introduce and discuss with experts from Member States two generic protocols (for retrospective and prospective studies) to assess the impact of climate change on diarrhoeal and vector-borne diseases. This led to the formulation of draft proposals by the experts. Once the proposals are finalized after peer review, it is planned to fund them. This approach will provide useful information on the subject and also help in capacity building.
