The meeting was designed with the objective of improving the quality and relevance of psychosocial and ethical dimensions of medical education and develop a framework to strengthen the psychosocial and ethics components of medical education. This meeting builds on the current work in both regions with respect to reorientation of health profession education from biomedical/disease focus to respond better to health care needs of individuals and communities and to improve the quality and standards of education. This report captures the conclusions of the consultation and provides recommendations for WHO.Citation
