Abstract
The practice of having Thursday "Lunch Time Seminars" in the Goa Room of the Regional Office for South-East Asia began in June 2004. It was meant to provide an informal forum for staff to share vignettes from their experiences through informal presentations. This publication features presentations made by current and former SEARO staff members. The informal setting of the Goa Room chats continues to offer SEARO's busy staff the opportunity to participate in current-issue-related presentations during their common office lunch time. The seminars thus saved on work time and helped staff reap the benefit of sharing morsels of practical wisdom. Also, staff got the chance to share each other's lessons from real-life experiences that had staff appeal across SEARO's several technical units. The informal nature of the forum setting continues to elicit lively discussion and debate, as well as offer an opportunity for staff to discover over and over again the holistic nature of their health work. This internal publication is the third in the series and includes the synopsis of 35 presentations, each described in two parts - a technical outline, and a listing of the rich discussion points that followed.
