Drug testing laboratories : Report of the South-East Asia Regional Meeting, Bangkok, Thailand, 27 April 2013

Abstract

This regional meeting on Drug Testing Laboratories was held on 27 April 2013 to strengthen regional capacity for testing of essential medicines to assure their quality. All 11 Member States of the Region participated and described their current status of medicines testing. Group work identified mechanisms for augmenting national capacity for assuring the quality of medicines and how to forge a regional network of drug testing laboratories. Recommendations for Member States, WHO and partners were developed on the way forward for the Region with regard to building capacity of drug testing laboratories.
