1. This document explains budget allocations and the guiding principles for the implementation inthe African Region of the WHO Programme Budget 2006-2007 which is the first Programme Budgetprepared under the Eleventh General Programme of Work and the fourth to be prepared since theintroduction of results-based budgeting. Thirty-six programmatic areas of work are used as buildingblocks in the programme budget.2. The Director-General has identified six areas of emerging concern. These areas and the proposed15 regional priorities for 2006-2007 have received substantial funding.3. The document is divided into six parts: introduction, budgetary analysis, guiding principles forimplementation, roles and responsibilities, conclusion and annexes containing budgetary tables.4. The Regional Committee is requested to review and approve the proposed orientations forimplementation of the WHO Programme Budget for 2006-2007 in the African Region.Citação
