HIV/AIDS care and treatment for people who inject drugs in Asia and the Pacific: An essential practice guide : egional of the 19th Meeting of the national AIDS programme managers, Bali, Indonesia, 29-31 October
This guide is meant to be complementary to the global ART guidelines and are designed for physicians, programme planners, other health care workers, People Living with HIV, and drug users in order to have one simplified user-friendly reference guide for national adaptation on management of HIV infection and antiretroviral therapy for IDUs. It is based on the discussions with health care workers, researchers and programme managers from South-East Asia and the Western Pacific Regions and the experiences from scaling-up ART and harm reduction services.
The meeting was designed with the objective of improving the quality and relevance of psychosocial and ethical dimensions of medical education and develop a framework to strengthen the psychosocial and ethics components of medical education. This meeting builds on the current work in both regions with respect to reorientation of health profession education from biomedical/disease focus to respond better to health care needs of individuals and communities and to improve the quality and standards of education.
