Fifth Meeting of the Government Chief Nurses of the Newly Independent States : report on a WHO meeting, Almaty, Kazakhstan 21-23 October 1999
AbstractGuided by the new Health21 policy for the WHO European Region, this Fifth Meeting addressed the need to identify, articulate and strengthen the nursing and midwifery contribution to the 21 targets and public health agenda set out in the policy. The participants decided to pilot the use of a template designed to measure such contributions. Further activities were agreed in relation to taking forward the concept of the family health nurse and the WHO Strategy for Nursing and Midwifery Education. The themes, processes and products of the Second WHO Conference on Nursing and Midwifery - to be held in Munich in June 2000 - were agreed on, and further action, a time-frame and lead persons were identified
