WHO Regional Nutrition Programme Advisory Group : report on a WHO meeting, Copenhagen, Denmark 26 August 1998
AbstractThe Advisory Group last met in 1995. As several major changes had occurred during 199661997, the Group was reconvened to review the work, priorities and future plans of the nutrition programme of the Regional Office. Five of the WHO collaborating centres for nutrition were represented at the meeting. The other participants comprised two temporary advisers with expertise in nutrition policy, two staff members from the Nutrition unit at WHO headquarters and eight staff members from the Regional Office. Detailed comments, advice and recommendations were offered under the three main strategic areas of the programme 6 nutrition policy, infant feeding and food security. The Group commended the achievements of the programme despite limited financial and human resources. The main recommendation in terms of strategy for the twenty-first century was that a European Action Plan for Food and Nutrition be developed, to be submitted for approval to the WHO Regional Committee for Europe
