The role of the nurse in preventing noncommunicable diseases : report on a WHO working group. Belfast, United Kingdom 14-16 February 1996
AbstractThe Second CINDI Nursing Working Group was convened in Belfast, United Kingdom, to provide an opportunity to review the role of the nurse in relation to health promotion and to develop an action plan for the future work of the Group, The meeting, whilst recognizing that health needs in countries vary tremendously, felt that the scope for health promotion by nurses was enormous. To this end, the meeting agreed that the value of the Group would be to assist its members to address the needs of their respective countries by providing focus and direction for their efforts. Guiding principles to inform the work of the CINDI Programme, and an action plan for promoting the role of the nurse in CINDI, were agreed. The coordinating centre for the CINDI Nursing Working Group will be the School of Nursing at Queen's University, Belfast. A third CINDI Working Group will be held at Queen's University, Belfast in 1998
