Abstract
The shortage of people qualified to undertake and manage environmental health activities has been a major impediment in improving environmental health management in the European Region. A meeting on the development of environment and health professional associations was held in Aberdeen (23-24 May 1996) to support the establishment of such professional structures in Member States and to encourage broader membership of international federations. Participants agreed to explore strategies for strengthening these links, and discussed WHO's role in helping to identify new areas for cooperationCitation
