Mr Blair Comley

Mr Blair Comley is the Secretary of the Australian Government’s Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. This portfolio is responsible for the stewardship of Australia’s health system and the integration of various aspects of the care economy.
Mr Comley has extensive experience in international multilateral engagement, having participated in forums such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the G20, WHO, and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, where he also served as Vice Chair of the Economic Development and Review Committee.
In addition to his current role, Mr Comley has held several significant leadership positions. He served as Secretary of the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency as well as the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism. He also led the New South Wales Public Service as Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
His expertise encompasses governance, financing and risk management. In the private sector, he was a senior partner at a strategy advisory firm.
Mr Comley holds Bachelor (Honours) and Master of Economics degrees and a graduate diploma in Legal Studies.
