Report of a regional meeting, SEARO, 4-6 March 2009Резюме
Research in communicable diseases can lead to better understanding of the epidemiology of the diseases as well as the social, economic, cultural, environmental, ecological and political factors that influence their propagation. Research is essential for the development of new tools and interventions, and need to be geared towards the development of evidence-based policies and interventions. The need for research as a part of strategic information and evidence base for developing effective and efficient disease interventions is also well recognized. Besides old challenges, research should address new challenges such as climate change and its impact on health. Given the multifaceted dimension of communicable diseases, it is imperative to identify priority research areas so that effective solutions can be developed to mitigate the impact of communicable diseases in South-East Asia Region.Описание
