A regional meeting on comprehensive control of cervical cancer was convened on 27-30 November 2012, Bangkok, Thailand, to strengthen initiatives for lowering the burden of cervical cancer in Member States of the South-East Asia Region, by reviewing the situation of the disease in countries, sharing technical updates and experiences of countries in screening programmes, and assessing the readiness of countries in introducing the HPV vaccine. County plans were drafted, which will be further refined to ensure that strategies and activities are carried out to strengthen cervical cancer control in Members States of the South-East Asia Region.Citación
