(2015, WHO/EURO:2015-6816-46582-67607)The promotion of active transport (cycling and walking) for everyday physical activity is an important approach to address the challenge of high levels of physical inactivity in most regions of the world. This requires building effective partnerships with the transport and urban planning sectors, whose policies are highly influential in providing appropriate conditions for such behavioural changes to take place and be maintained. Economic assessment of transport infrastructure and policies: methodological guidance on the economic appraisal of health effects related to walking and cycling
(2007, WHO/EURO:2007-3976-43735-61529)The calculation of cost–benefit ratios is an established practice in transport planning.
