Evidence and Information for Health Policy

The WHO Statistical Information System is the guide to health and health-related epidemiological and statistical information available from the World Health Organization. Most WHO technical programmes make statistical information available, and they will be linked from here. You also have the possibility to search by keywords within the WHOSIS or throughout the entire WHO site.

Evidence for Health Policy
The Evidence for Health Policy site presents current activities relating to epidemiology and the burden of disease, cost-effectiveness of health care interventions, and health systems performance assessment and reform, including quality of care, ethical issues, financing, resource allocation, regulation and legislation.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
The purpose of this page is to provide information about the use of the geographical component in connection with health within WHO. More and more technical programmes are using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to give a new dimension to the representation of their data, to perform analyses or to deal with modelling taking into account the spatial component. Examples of applications are presented as well as end-users' products and links to interesting web pages in connection with the use of GIS in the health field.
