Terms of Reference:
  1. 1. To build regional and national STI program implementation and laboratory capacity through provision of short term consultants to support STI surveillance, clinical management, and laboratory diagnosis and reference capacity 
  2. 2. To promote standardization of syphilis diagnostics and to evaluate performance of such tests through developing guidance, providing laboratory training and technical assistance, supporting proficiency testing, and building regional laboratory capacity to support unerlying national programs 
  3. 3. To enhance capacity for global antimicrobial resistance surveillance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG) and (as applicable) other emerging STIs through training and technical assistance supporting standardization of diagnostics, proficiency testing and quality improvement of representative surveillance systems 
  4. 4. To enhance capacity for regional and national elimination of mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of syphilis and associated complications through technical support to improve laboratory diagnosis, surveillance, monitoring & evaluation. and operational research aimed at improved MCH programs
