  1. After the elimination of the morbidity due to the diseases: a- to assist in developing strategies for the elimination of urinary schistosomiasis; b- to assist in developing strategies for reducing the preventive chemotherapy interventions while avoiding the resurgence of soil-transmitted helminthiasis (STH) morbidity .  
  2. To continue the development of sensitive quantitative techniques for the diagnosis of helminth infections and schistosomiasis for monitoring control/elimination programmes 
  3. To promote and carry out capacity building of national and international health staff in implementation, monitoring and evaluation of NTD control programmes  
  4. To provide technical support to neighbouring countries in planning, monitoring and evaluating integrated NTD control programmes
