- To strengthen the collaboration between WHO and ECRU in Research Synthesis, particularly in terms of development of the WHO Reproductive Health Library.
- To develop further capacity in research synthesis in reproductive health in the African region.
- To carry out further systematic reviews of topics of relevance to reproductive health in low-income countries.
- To participate in primary clinical research led by WHO in areas relevant to reproductive health in which synthesis of existing research reveals inadequate evidence.
