  1. To organise and conduct External Quality Assessment programmes in Microbiology, Infectious Disease Serology, Biochemistry, Haematology and Blood Transfusion Science for laboratory services of developing countries in the Pacific region. 
  2. To collaborate in training laboratory personnel from developing countries at different levels with emphasis on quality assurance and workforce development. 
  3. To provide technical support and advice as required to health laboratories in the Pacific region.
