Terms of Reference:
  1. To conduct basic and applied malaria research to support malaria control activities particularly for entomology and vector control measures in order to reduce transmission risks. 
  2. To contribute the development of human resources including training and continued education for malaria research and control at national, regional and extra regional level. 
  3. To conduct studies on malaria diagnostic tools and anti-malarial drugs including traditional medicine particularly on drug efficacy, drug resistance, assessment, evaluation and quality assurance. 
  4. To expand technical assistance and cooperation in malaria research to institutions, non-governmental organizations and WHO member countries as needed.

WHO Outputs:
  Ower: 1.1 - Policy and technical support provided to Member States in order to maximize equitable access of all people to vaccines of assured quality, including new immunization product and technologies, and to integrate other essential child-health interventions with immunization.
  Ower: 2.1 - Guidelines, policy, strategy and other tools developed for prevention of, and treatment and care for patients with, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, including innovative approaches for increasing coverage of the interventions among poor people, and hard-to-reach and vulnerable populations.
