Terms of Reference:
- 1. To cooperate with the WHO in studying the best ways of harmonizing the existing dual medical system, Eastern and Western medicine, with a view to develop a workable unified medical care system;
- International symposium on East-West medicine by School of Oriental Medicine, Graduate school of East-West Medical Science, Institute of Oriental Medicine and related organization including our institute.
- 2. To encourage and strengthen research into evidence-based practice of Korean medicine;
- Announcement of excellent paper on East-West medicine
- Operation of Ko-Hwang Medical Award
- Operation of Award of Excellence for Student Medical Thesis
- 3. To establish appropriate educational standards for Korean medicine;
- Union and cooperation of the 11 Eastern medical colleges and other organizations
- 4. To support national health authorities in developing a national policy for Korean medicine;
- Establishment of the Korean Medicine Promotion Act in Korea
- Media briefings
- 5. Holding - "International Symposium in Commemoration of the Establishment of WHO-IST"
Purpose - To strengthen domestic and international popularity of WHO-IST (WHO International Standard Terminologies on Traditional Medicine in the Western Pacific Region) : Holding Symposium to extend the function of WHO-IST in the field of education, research and clinic.
- 6. "Informal Consultation on ICTM-EA"
Purpose - Regional application and strengthening international cooperation of International Classification of East Asia Traditional Medicine (ICTM-EA), which is being developed process by WPRO.
- 7. Develop teaching and practice materials based on Standard Location of Acupuncture Points to be published from WHO.
- 8. "International Conference for the establishment of STRIASA (Standards for Reporting Interventions in Animal Studies of Acupuncture)"
- Holding international expert conferences to develop standards for the study of animal acupuncture experiments.
