Terms of Reference:
- To conduct basic, applied and operational research related to the elimination of Lymphatic filariasis (LF)
- To develop tools and protocols for assessment of LF elimination programme, including information on technical tools, conduct research on epidemiology, xenomonitoring and sampling strategies
- To develop newer products related to LF management, including clinical or field trials of new interventions, diagnostics and antifilarials
- To conduct social, behavioural and ecological studies including cost-effectiveness analyses on LF
- To conduct research studies related to vector control tools and strategies related to Integrated Vector Management
- To develop guidelines and tools for Integrated Vector Management implementation and monitoring
- To develop tools and strategies for vector surveillance and monitoring of insecticide resistance
- To support WHO in laboratory and field evaluation of insecticides, larvicides, repellents, insecticide treated materials and other related areas
To carryout epidemic investigations of vector borne diseases
To conduct relevant training courses on LF elimination and Regional training courses on Integrated Vector Management
