- To support in development of specifications for inclusion in the International Pharmacopoeia and related laboratory guidelines
- Contribution to new draft medicines quality assurance guidelines and standards, according to the work programme recommended by the Expert Committee on Specifications for Pharmaceutical Preparations
- To support the WHO Interbational Regulatory Collaboration on Herbals (IRCH) by providing the national contact point
