- Identification, collection and critical review of scientific information, methods, tools and models of evidence-based best practices in health promotion and chronic disease prevention and control
- Original research on public health (population studies), health services (planning, organizing, sustainability) and health promotion, chronic disease prevention and control and education (planning, implementing and evaluating programmes and interventions)
- Research based planning, implementation and evaluation of health promotion and chronic disease prevention and control programmes and services
- Training of various types (vocational, professional) for different target-groups including e-learning activities and organizing summer schools
- Health promotion, chronic disease prevention and control and health care needs assessments and evaluation of relevant policies and practices in primary health care settings, work-places and community/local population based levels.
- Development of specific information database
- Development of policy guidelines and provision of advocacy documents for policy-makers, local authorities and health services leaders
- Consultations and participation in WHO expert committees and groups on public health, community initiatives and urban governance
Advocacy and represantation work in national and international conferences and media events
Supporting and facilitating cooperations among health promoting hospitals, primary health care services and local authorities contributing to the implementation of WHO strategies for health ptomotion and noncommunicable disease prevention and control
