- To maintain the software OPAL 1 & 2 for the exchange of data on contamination of foods and diet between all participants of Global Environment Monitoring System/Food Contamination Monitoring and Assessment Programme (GEMS/Food).
- To participate in the GEMS/Food through the provision of monitoring data on levels of priority contaminants in food and the total diet, especially those identified by GEMS/Food.
- To cooperate with GEMS/Food and its participating institutions by providing information on the prevention, monitoring, control and exposure assessement of contaminants in food.
