Terms of Reference:
  1. To develop training programmes within the framework of IMPLAD projects for other countries in need. Description: Carry out training programmes in the field of medicinal plants, transferring knowledge concerning R&D of herbal medicine, especially about GACP etc.. 
  2. To undertake the exchange of experts, of different technical areas, between China & other countries in order to facilitate mutual progress in pertinent areas of science & technology, especially relating to medicinal plants. Description: Support and carry out the exchange in different technical areas such as quality control, safety evaluation, pharmacological research etc., with other countries in order to facilitate mutual progress in scientific areas, especially in herbal medicine. 
  3. To conduct research on medicinal plants and herbal medicines, including cooperative research projects in which IMPLAD participates as partner. Description: Carry out research on medicinal plants and herbal medicines in the areas such as in the framework of Centre's own research projects and cooperative research projects. 
  4. To undertake any activities entrusted to it under the traditional medicine programme by the WHO Regional Office in the Western Pacific and WHO Headquarters. Description: Centre will support and participate in the implementation of WHO's activities in the field of traditional medicine, in various manners, based on request of WHO's Regional Office in the Western Pacific and WHO Headquarters.
