Terms of Reference:
- 1. To promote the use of the International Classification of Diseases for mortality statistics, morbidity statistics, and hospital medical record indexing, and to contribute to its improvement in the light of practical experiences;
- 2. To promote the use of the International Classification of Medical Procedures and the International Classification of Functioning, Disabilities and Health, in their specific areas of application, and to contribute to their improvement in light of practical experience;
- 3. To contribute to the development of information systems in support of primary health care approach to deliver health services by supporting the development of classification of health problems based on morbidity and other health data reported from the three levels of the health system in China;
- 4. To prepare a Chinese language version of the text of international classifications;
- 5. To translate into English the developed materials and software of the international classifications;
- 6. To submit a report on the linkages between classifications and terminologies as well as experiences in international classifications;
- 7. To act as a reference center for the Chinese language on all matters referring to international classifications;
- 8. To work closely with the Center for Statistics and Information, Ministry of Health, on the identification of problems in health data collection, processing and analysis, the resolution of such problems, and the documentation of new and innovative techniques and methods for field testing and evaluation;
9. To develop an organizational structure of WHO-FIC in China with the China Health Economics Institute, MOH, and the Institute of Rehabilitation Information, CRRC, and to work closely with them and other related institutions on promoting the use of other classifications of the Family of International Classifications (FIC);
10. To support the work of the various committees and work groups established to assist who in the development, testing, implementation, use, improvement, updating and revision of members of the who-fic including: the implementation committee, update and revision committee, education committee, electronic tools committee, family development committee, mortality reference group, morbidiy reference group, functioning and disability reference group, and the terminology reference group.
