- Collaborate with PAHO/WHO to strengthen capacity of midwifery human resources development in education and training through identification and application of evidence based midwifery practices and advanced midwifery education in the region.
- Collaborate with PAHO/WHO to strengthen the health sector in human resources through regional expertise development of clinical midwifery research in Latin America and Caribbean countries.
- Collaborate with PAHO/WHO in developing, disseminating and communication of WHO/PAHO guidelines and protocols.

- Training and education
3.1.1 - Further expansion enabled of access to and quality of effective interventions from pre-pregnancy to postpartum focusing on the 24-hour period around childbirth
3.1.3 - Countries enabled to implement and monitor effective interventions to cover the unmet needs in sexual and reproductive health and to reduce adolescent risk behaviour
3.1.4 - Research undertaken, and evidence generated and synthesized to design key interventions in reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, and other conditions and issues linked to it
