  1. To contribute to PAHO/WHO's work to develop and / or update policies, standards and/or guidelines for blood and blood products quality management in the countries.  
  2. At PAHO/WHO’s request, the Collaborating Center will provide specialized services for the evaluation of assays used in serological analyzes, including equipment and software; and will develop the external quality control of serology for blood banks. 
  3. To contribute to PAHO/WHO's work to build human resources capacities in the countries in internal and external quality control and quality management in blood banks and transfusion services.
