Terms of Reference:
- 1 To provide training opportunities for providers/practitioners of traditional medicine
(to organize various undergraduate and postgraduate training programmes in traditional Chinese medicine).
- 2 To provide training opportunities for researchers in traditional medicine
(to organize doctoral and masters research training programmes in relevant areas of basic and clinical research in traditional medicine for domestic and international students).
- 3 To conduct clinical researches in acupuncture
(to conduct clinical studies on acupuncture in pain management and chronic respiratory diseases).
- 4 To conduct basic researches in herbal medicines
(to investigate pharmacognosical /phytochemical characteristics, pharmacological properties, action mechanism and pharmacodynamics of Chinese herbal medicines).
- 5 To support WHO activities in the field of traditional medicine and networking of WHO collaborating centres for traditional medicine
(upon request by WHO (both Headquarters and Regional Office for the Western Pacific), to carry out ad hoc assignments and support particular activities in the field of traditional medicine; and to support networking among WHO CCs for TRM and strengthen information exchange/sharing among WHO CCs for TRM, such as serving as an editorial office of newsletter of WHO CCs for TRM).
