Terms of Reference:
  1. 1. To keep WHO & the network of WHO Collaborating Centres in Occupational Health informed of relevant national occupational health activities in Australia. 
  2. 2. To facilitate occupational health research collaboration in Australia & international research communities. 
  3. 3. To foster an evidence-based approach to occupational health policy & practice & to facilitate exchange of information on occupational health issues within Australia & internationally. 
  4. 4. To participate in the network of WHO Collaborating Centres for Occupational Health & the implementation of the WHO Global Strategy for Occupational Health for All. 
  5. 5. To contribute financially and by other means to the occupational component of the WHO Global Burden of Disease 2005-2010 initiative.

To respond to the call for projects to achieve the priorities of the Global Plan of Action by 2012 by contributing further projects under Objective 4 of the Global Plan of Action, Priority 1a, which is to encourage practical research on emerging issues, including nanomaterials and climate change. 
  7. 7. To respond to the call for projects to achieve the priorities of the Global Plan of Action by 2012 by contributing further projects under Objective 4 of the Global Plan of Action, Priority 1d, by conducting practical research to understand occupational health risks and their controls.

WHO Outputs:
  Ower: 8.2 - Technical support and guidance provided to Member States for the implementation of primary prevention interventions that reduce environmental hazards to health, enhance safety and promote public health, including in specific settings (e.g. workplaces, homes or urban settings) and among vulnerable population groups (e.g. children).
  Ower: 8.3 - Technical assistance and support provided to Member States for strengthening national occupational and environmental health risk management systems, functions and services.
  Ower: 8.4 - Guidance, tools and initiatives created in order to support the health sector in influencing policies in other sectors to allow policies that improve health, the environment and safety to be identified and adopted.
