Terms of Reference:
- To provide technical contribution to the WHO work in the area of monitoring patterns of alcohol and drug use, related harms and societal responses.
- To participate in collaborative research projects on substance abuse organized by WHO & make contributions as required.
- To support development and implementation of WHO strategies, action plans and programs to minimize alcohol & other drug related harms by identifying and addressing research priorities, capacity building and technical coopoeration in the Region.
- To provide training for professionals from low and middle income countries on the nature of alcohol & drug problems & culturally relevant measures to reduce these problems.
- To develop in consultation and collaboration with WHO partnerships in the prevention of alcohol & other drug problems among Indigenous people.
