Key inclusion & exclusion criteria

ALD patients

Inclusion Criteria:

- Excess alcohol intake

- Abnormality of liver biopsy compatible with alcoholic aetiology

- Caucasian ethnicity

Exclusion Criteria:

- Presence of any other chronic liver disease

- co-infection with HIV Controls Inclusion criteria

- Caucasian ethnicity

- presence of a disease
