Inclusion criteria: Failure of active knee extension
radiological evidence of complete Quadriceps tendon rupture
history of recent trauma < 7 days

Exclusion criteria: Neglected or chronic ruptures
history of previous failed repair
patella fractures or associated fractures of the ipsilateral limb
