Inclusion Criteria:

- Manifest chronic periodontitis according to international classification

Exclusion Criteria:

- Other treatment requiring oral conditions

- Systemic antibiotics within the latest 6 months

- Systemic diseases and medications with known associations to periodontitis

- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
